Advertisement's Audience

This is a print advertisement created by McDonalds to promote their product: the mocha frape. They do this by having a person hold out the product towards the audience, causing the product to block the head of the person holding it out, even though it should not be. Doing this shows that their product is more important than the people around you but also that the people love it so much that they will just be shoving it at you to get you to try it too. This also an appeal towards dominance as the person is faceless/not important to the audience and they are presenting the product much like they are serving the audience. The main writing on the advertisement is written in fudge and caramel, most likely the options for toppings at McDonalds. This gives the audience more information on the product without even having to say it. This shows the appeal to aesthetic as this makes it look as if the writing came out dripping chocolate/caramel. There also is not a company name on the entire advertisement, apart from the logo and the catch-phrase. Not even having the company name stated, means that the advertisers are aiming this ad at an audience that can recognize the company and product immediately. The target audience of this product is someone that knows the company without it being stated but someone that also likes the products they provide.

  1. The analysis was clearly comprehensible I like that you kept it simple and found out the key elements to talk about the advert but more sufficient amount of detail with regards to using the appeals we learnt in class to enhance your analysis for this advert would be make it furthermore cohesive.
